EARphones and C-19 Organ

Start: 18:00End: 22:00Link

Welcome to listen to the C-19 organ , welcome to Environmental Artistic Research and come and enter the bubble, listen to its fines flute-tones and just remember that moment, that Covid was in us, while standing in a giant Covid-like inflatable.
We will have some Drinks and great ambiance with a concert of Susan Glattli (bass), Jope Schneider, Kaspar König!

The inflatable C-19 organ (2023) is an instrument and land art piece combined into one object. Resembling the COVID-19 virus, this massive ball has a diameter of 8 meters and has already been inflated in Zurich, Hong Kong, Malmö, and Frankfurt. It is on its way to Vienna and, with a little luck, to Osaka next year. The installation serves as a reminder of the trauma a global pandemic can cause. The sound varies in every corner, as each spike ends in an organ pipe that plays a note due to the escaping air from the structure. Once inside, you feel safe, like in a womb—carried and protected against the next big thing (or small thing?). It is valuable as a statement made by 2 artists (Jope Schneider, Kaspar Koenig) based in the 3rd and 4th floor of ZW. The C-19 is an “agent” for ZW in the Artscene and beyond that, as a narrative for social and collective awareness and engagement.
