“Come and contemplate” is the title of the tour that Kaspar König & Jope Schneider make in Amsterdam. The occasion of the Book-launch from the book come to your senses in pakhuis de zwijger from 19h onwards on the 28th of november, initiated this tour, organized by the community of listeners of the Environmental Artistic Research we expand this performance to showcase the C-19 organ popping up in Amsterdam twice. So take the opportunity and enter the C-19 organ – made in the swiss alps! Imagine a big inflatable virus that turns into a contemplation room with organ pipes, a space that is a performance accompanied with earphones to try and buy.

This inflatable C-19 organ is a balloon type of inflatable with 36 “spikes” that facilitate the airflow in the organpipes. In these spikes the airflow is running through 3d printed flutes and organpipes that have different pitches due to the different designs of flutes and pipes. Once inflated, there are different sound-fields around the organ so depending on angle of approach, you will hear different sounds appear. The overal sound is not loud (at least depending on the airpressure inside) but makes the organ omnipresent. It has a diameter of 8 meter.
The Organ is part of my work to cope with the aftermath of covid-19. One can enter the globe once it is inflated and eversince covid was in us, we can walk through this covid-like Organ and recall the whole thing for a moment, to then get the joy of being in this globe that has an very interesting acoustic due to its permable material and its echo! As in Echoroom / Echoraum. Kaspar König and Jope Schneider cooperated on the realisation of the organ and presented it in EAR in the Emmental in Switzerland in 2023. In July it toured in Hong Kong. This work was realized by the artist themselves (including the pictures K.König). It can be setup indoors and outdoors and can be entered by 10-15 people at a time. Concerts, projections and performances can be done inside the inflatable.
